EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Has ADHD become a scapegoat for challenges in your relationships?
It’s true that traits of ADHD can cause frustration in relationships. But in personal relationships, ADHD often gets blamed for misunderstandings that arise from two individuals having different personal styles.
Miscommunication usually happens due to assumptions that are wrong. It can happen in any relationship, both personal and professional. And that’s not generally an ADHD problem, but one of communication and managing expectations.
In this webinar, you’ll learn:
- To distinguish between ADHD-related challenges and personal style differences
- How to identify your own and others’ personal and behavioral styles (so you can see where friction might occur between you and another individual)
- Verbal tactics to make sure communication is clear – because it’s not just understanding what they say, but what they mean
- Ways to manage mutual expectations, without having to make it all about ADHD
To prepare, think about any relationship you have where there seems to be some frustration, misunderstandings, or simply rubbing each other the wrong way. It might be an important personal relationship, or perhaps someone in another aspect of your life.
Keep that person in mind as we talk about different personal styles.
